A busy time of year for us with three birthdays within weeks. We took our time to celebrate them a few weeks later and it really went well. Isaac requested early on to have frog cupcakes, so we picked some out on line that we saw and I got busy with the marshmallows and frosting. He also got a new bike with training wheels! It will be very easy for him to learn on since he has had practice on his push bike for a year.
We did a bootcamp/obstacle course for the theme this year. Nine year olds and four year olds, it was busy! The older boys were very competitive, but the younger ones just wanted to play around and didn't really follow directions. I showed Wesley how he had 9 different friends show up to support him and how lucky he must feel to be so well liked. Friends from different schools, or sports or church. Isaac was the "line leader" and had fun running around and hitting the pinata. One of the dads, Clint Crockett stayed to help play with the younger boys and make up games while the older boys did the obstacle course. I appreciated his help.
The tug of war was the favorite, especially when they went against the men! We got our free cakes from Basha's and Wesley drew on the pinata box. A family effort indeed. Wesley got a bunch of gift cards and cash and Isaac got some super heroes and Hot Wheels. I am grateful that it was a success and that they boys enjoyed sharing a birthday together.
