St George Gettaway

Jared had a few days between winter/spring semesters at BYU, so we decided to take a few days off to go to St George with our kids. Our friends Carol and Doyle Thompson invited us to use their winter condo there, so we were really lucky to have a place to stay (on our student budget). We loaded up and spent a few days there (including hiking a day in Zion National Park). The weather was nice, even a little chilly and windy, but sunny! We enjoyed the St George children's museum as well and walked around the St George temple grounds. Family vacations bring out the true colors with everyone, and this was no exception. There were arguments, tears, talking back and disagreements, but that is also what brings families together, working it out.

Rex 2 months old

2 months old Sweet baby Rex. He's getting older, and with that came his first buzz cut to get rid of his old man hair. He continues to do a lot of sleeping, so when he is awake...it's exciting! I am constantly pumping bottles for him since our schedule is so random and I never know when he will need to eat next. I am grateful that he will take a bottle, especially at 5am when I am sneaking out to go exercise at the Rec Center. He enjoyed his daddy buzz and now he looks so BALD to me with this big round head that I love to kiss on. I love how he cuddles with me during the night (to make up for my guilt I feel for not holding him more during the day), I love seeing you take showers with dad and hearing him sing to you his silly songs about staying warm or getting wet. Sometimes I will do night shopping (to avoid taking 3 kids to the store) and Austin will stay up holding you (or reading a book!) It's so helpful having older kids to be around so I can get things done. We all want to hold you, get a "baby fix," guess which eye color you will have and the boys try to sneak you up to their rooms to snuggle on you at bedtime. It's super sweet. Prayers while holding you :)
