Love my sleeping babies! I often come home at 7am from the gym, in the summer and find Rex wide awake amidst his dad and brothers...happy as can be. Rex looks a lot like his brothers when he is asleep, I can see a resemblance for sure! He loves his left hand fingers (for now) and it's been great having him sleep more soundly. There's something so precious when seeing your child sleep (is it the peace and calmness?) Ruby can now climb out of her crib, but I am keeping her in there as long as I can (it involves locking the door and putting the ironing board up against the other door to block her). She goes to bed so late, keeping up with her brothers, that the nap is pretty essential! Both Levi and Rex fell asleep on me the day after the 4th of July (a hangover) during church, that was sweet (and uncomfortable!)

Isaac
Mr Muscle Isaac Man has had a good summer, some ups and downs emotionally! We are trying to still figure things out in that area with some counseling and extra attention. He is super strong, can work out really well with dad and and loves to show me his six pack. He had lost his money binder, so we prayed together and that's when I remembered where I had placed it for him. Prayer works! He saved up his pulling weeds money to buy his first pair of shoes; checkered black and white with cherry Vans. He was anticipating their arrival for days and couldn't stop looking (and sneaking them on his feet inside the house). He kept telling us that they are his shoes and he can do what he wants with them and wear them whenever he wants! ha! Even if it doesn't match or it's inside the house...sorry sweetheart. He continues to be a great big brother to Rex, helping feed him and letting me know when he is crying. He also finally lost his first tooth, age 7. He got $5 from the tooth fairy, which he thought was pretty cool (although he is not a believer in that magic anymore). I always say, "if you don't believe, then they won't come!" He is a good sport to play along with mom's wishes. He is really getting into skateboarding, wants long hair, "tight" pants and next on his list of things to buy is the skateboard!
mom and dad date
Levi and Ruby's turn for a mom and dad date (plus Rex in tow of course). Levi chose to go to Macey's for some amazing soft serve ice cream. I remember having these same cones when I was a little girl, "Kong kone" are humongous!
Rexaroni 6 months
We have entered the food stage for Mr Rex! I knew it would come eventually b/c he would grunt and lick his lips whenever we started eating around him. I gave him a little bit of whole wheat cereal one day, and by the next he was eating 3 solid meals (including table foods of bread, cheese and chicken). He can't put it in his mouth, but loves to chomp and enjoys food. I can feel him start to grow already and get a bit more chunky in his face. I love this stage of trying new foods and seeing his face react as he scrunches his face out of surprise or thrusts his tongue out if he is done eating. He is not sitting up on his own yet (probably bc we hold him so often), he has blond hair like his sister Ruby, he loves to laugh with dad, is super ticklish, still sleeps in our room (trying to figure out how to get him into his own space without sharing with Ruby who needs her naps still), is very cuddly and doesn't like loud noises (like if dad raises his voice, Ruby screams or the boys are running around fighting). I keep thinking how lucky I am to have him, he arrived so quickly and here we are with a sweet baby!
