Austin's 10th bday

Our sweet Austin is now double digits...10! We did a bday party for him with a few close friends, Ninja style dressed in black for night games. We roasted hot dogs and s'mores outside and then Jared led them to the church in front to play some games. It was great! He got a cool watch, his own Monopoly game, some cash and a gift card to Petsmart from mom and dad. Jared had to go out of town on his actual bday, so I did the best I could to make it special. We served him breakfast in bed (with super crispy toast), hit up football games, went to Tia Estela's house for milanesa lunch (not a huge success), went to Petsmart where I let him buy a hamster (Cosmo) b/c he was in tears that his bday was the.worst.day.ever...then had Stetson come over to celebrate with pizza and jello. I was feeling sad b/c Gpa Lowe was not with us, this being our first family that he was not going to be at. Then Jared was gone, so I felt lonely as the only family member trying to make Austin's day fun! That's why Cosmo had to come be part of the fun bday! Fast forward two weeks...and we had to take Cosmo back b/c he kept getting out of the cage! It was amazing how he would end up downstairs, after having gone down the big staircase and be hanging out in the kitchen! Jared said NO MORE RATS and Cosmo was a goner. We will now be getting Austin a fish for a pet.

Sunday Strolls

We are trying to create some traditions for Sundays with our kids. A few ideas is to go to a temple and walk on the grounds, have PPI's with dad, bake, family council, drives in canyon, walks around the neighborhood, read church magazines or maybe even index (no one is super excited about that). It's so nice to be in Utah with this weather right now! I thought Sept would be cold, but it has been pleasantly beautiful and inviting us to be outside. We want to drink up all the experiences we can here in Provo and live up all we can!

BYU vs Boise

The first BYU Football game of the season was AWESOME. Maybe it's b/c we are new here, maybe it's b/c we had great company (Clint and Meg Christensen), maybe it's b/c we hadn't been to a game in a long time, maybe it's b/c we needed a date night, or maybe b/c they had a GREAT game with last minute touchdowns....overall it was so fun. It was a whitewash game so we all wore white, and when the game was over, the fans rushed the field. It looked like a bunch of snow! We were next to the band members, so our ears were ringing after a quarter...and in the student section the students NEVER SIT DOWN. That was rough for this prego girl! I also enjoyed a cougar tail and some game food (which later made me puke in our bushes by the time I got back home at 1am...not so fun).

Flag Football Isaac and family

Isaac loved football! He was NOT aggressive at all, mostly would stand during a play with his arms in the crossed position (for defense), or just watch as the ball would go right by him. But, he had a GREAT time and loved every minute of it. Ruby was a monster most games trying to eat all of her brother's game snacks. Potty training her during this season of sports was ROUGH, especially b/c she didn't like the park outhouses (she thought they were scary, hand on chest and would scream!) I even carried the gross potty ring around with me to encourage her to sit down. We had a few accidents and threw away some undies even. Levi was a good boy, played with many sticks as swords and would also beg for treats.

Flag Football Austin

Austin had a fun flag football season. He enjoyed playing QB and also running with the ball. He is not overly aggressive, but was still able to run hard and have fun. He was SUCH a big help with Ms Ruby when she would need to go for walks and I would be busy watching the other two brothers play (we signed all three up this year, won't do that again b/c Jared was not available for any practices or games b/c of school). I think Austin had a great time, which is most important.
