Wison's 50th Anniversary

Jared and I threw Glenn and Carol their big 5-0 wedding anniversary party! It was quite the activity for both of us to pull together; invites, music, food, décor, program, movie, drinks, etc. Their was a great turnout of family and friends to support the Wilson's,  which we were so happy to see. They said some really sweet things to one another and I don't think I had seen their smiles that big in a long time. That warmed our hearts and made it all worth it. We are so glad that they are in our lives and that we could celebrate this special time with them.
There are also a few pictures up in Show Low at Granmda Linchy's birthday luncheon. The boys love spending as much time with Pipa as they can!

Mother's Day

I have been spoiled these last few weeks to have my mom around to help out with Ruby, and this month was no exception. My dad and I decided to go on a daddy daughter date  to Cafe Rio, and then to a local theatre to see "The Secret Garden." My dad goes in for hip surgery in a few weeks, so this was one of the last chances to get out before he is bed ridden.  The food is always delicious, and the theatre production was a little too advanced for my dad (or me), so we left during intermission.
My mom travelled with Jared, Ruby and I to the Gilbert temple one day that I had off from school. Levi and Isaac stayed with a friend. That temple is a solid 1.25 hour drive, so it is a sacrifice and takes up half a day to go there and back (plus 2 hour session). Well worth it! Too bad Ruby screamed and cried the ENTIRE time we were in there. She got so hot that my mom had to strip off her clothing! I felt so bad afterwards, but loved being in there and feeling the sweet spirit of the temple.  I sure do look curvy and chubby next to my skinny mom.
Mother's Day (Sunday) was wonderful. My mom and I received homemade cards, chocolates (which I never did find, Mr Levi ran off with them), roses, salmon for dinner and coupons to redeem from Austin.  I was happy to share that day with my mom! She treated herself to a new haircut and I started using some fun nail wraps to pamper my fingers. So lucky to be a mom to 5 kids. As exhausting and suffocating as I feel, I know what a privilege it is to have them in my life and to be able to serve them. I try everyday to give them love.

Easter

Easter Sunday! Got all the kids ready by 9am and out the door so that I could be on time to play the organ in church. A busy morning! Ruby even got her nails painted pink. We decided to share Easter dinner with my dad and Ms Jan, and do Easter baskets over there. Seems like the holidays come faster now that I am so busy! But, I managed to buy the boys some swim trunks, goggles and peeps/gum for their baskets. After a delicious ham dinner and all the fixings (including cheesecake!) we let Gpa and my mom hide the baskets while Jared took the boys on walk outside.  The older boys are "over" the Easter bunny, but Isaac and Levi were super excited! Isaac kept looking for a real bunny and Levi was just excited b/c everyone else was too! Grateful for the time of year to think of our Savior, even if it does involve some chocolates and swimsuits!
