It's 4am. I roll out of bed to get changed into my workout clothes for a long 10 mile run. I go check on my boys (as I do every morning) to re-tuck in and fill up Isaac's humidifier.
As I am bending over the tub to fill up the humidifier, I reach down to lift it back up...DON'T bend my knees, and as a result throw my back out. It felt like a pinch, or a strain, but nothing too serious.
Since I am fully awake by now, knowing I can't fall back asleep...despite my minor injury...I decide to go for my run. What a mistake!
An hour and a half later, I am still throbbing with pain in my back, and now I feel nauseous.
Go to work. Sit down. Stand up. Bend over.
Come home. Tie boys' shoes. Unload dishwasher. Carry Isaac on hip. Swap out laundry.
Life continues...even with a back injury.
The result? It is now Wednesday, 6 days later, and I have a serious back sprain.
I tried to take it easy over the weekend. I got a priesthood blessing on Sunday. I was super crippled and bent over all during school Mon/Tuesday, having a very hard time maneuvering around the classroom. One student offered to push me around in my chair!
My students kept asking, "What's wrong Mrs. Wilson?" Administration, staff, other students and even parents started seeing my crooked body and were concerned. Just stop asking questions! I got so tired of all of the attention. Made me feel incompetent.
I went to the chiropractor for an adjustment on Monday. He popped me back into place (it's always so nerve wracking right before he pops you...makes me feel so jumpy and I am always so shocked by the outcome). I then received a "muscle therapy." It really was just an INTENSE massage. Tears came. Goosebumps surfaced. Felt great....until the night. I slept terribly from all the aches and pains that came from that massage...which lasted throughout the following day.
Tuesday morning I was in tears on the floor, not knowing which was worse; my back or my tummy. Sweet Wesley came over to give me a massage on my back.
I pulled myself together to go to school. It was a wash of teaching. Couldn't move around as I like to do and it was pathetic. I prepared lesson plans for the sub for today....
Which brings me to now. I sit at the computer after having spent the day at lunch with my dad and Isaac (a Thai cuisine that was so tasty...peanut dressing over a salad and pat thai noodles), and an Italian bakery. I have watched several movies, made a chicken tortilla soup for dinner, and now I am wondering if my body is okay to go to school tomorrow???
Oh dear back, please get healthy again soon. I miss my mobility and straight posture. I miss my daily workouts and effortless sleeping positions. Please return to me!

November 28th
Pregnancy test is finally positive. Took 4 tests with faint lines. But, this one looks much more promising.
I forgot about the dark pee, which is another positive sign of pregnancy.
I am such a worry wart. Every time I go to the bathroom, I am worried that I will discover another miscarriage/period. How to do I relax, now that I am finally prego...when I get the first ultrasound? When I know which sex it is? When I have a final due date? When the baby comes?
I have waited 17 + months to be prego, and now that it is finally here...I am still worrying! I was worrying about WHY we weren't prego, WHAT medicine I could take to help it along, WHEN would we have another addition, HOW could we make this work, and WHERE would I be working next year if a baby was not in the future?
So many questions.
I put Isaac in a shirt that says, "I'm the Big Brother." I woke up Isaac and put it on him immediately. Jared said, "Why are you putting that on him? He already has a long sleeved shirt." I said, "well, this one finally fits him." Jared just looked at me. I then said, "And it makes sense." That is when Jared gave me a huge grin and said, "Are you pregnant?"
I am 5 weeks along. Still waiting for the nausea to hit (which would be okay b/c it means I am for sure prego??? and not going to miscarry at 7 weeks like I did last time). When will I get more tired, from my already 4:15am wake up call? Will the cravings come? When will I start showing? When to tell the kids? When to tell my students? After the holidays when I am showing more?
It's such a private and sensitive subject for me. I am keeping it a huge secret...for now. I am too nervous to spread the good news, and then to have it backfire. Is that a lack of faith?
I hope Jared can give me a blessing of comfort.
I would love to have twins!
I can't wait to set up Isaac's room with Austin and make a nursery!
I am excited to have another addition!
Will she be a girl b/c she is close to my birthday in August?
Will I still be able to work out in the mornings, even if I am too tired and fat and worn out from working all day long at school?
I know pregnancy is so demanding, exhausting and laborious. But, for right now, I am thrilled! All I can think about is that I am finally finally finally prego.
I hope this one sticks.

And of course flexing for the camera
Austin got to be a conductor with the Phoenix Symphony at school! He looked so confident.
My handsome boy getting ready for church all by himself.
Wesley is finally helping me clean a bathroom! I told him when he turned 7, he would be doing on on his own. With lots of patience, we getting the job done...and he is stripped to his "tiney whineys" (as he calls them) so he won't get bleach on his clothing.

Finishing up the Coach Pitch season with the Sharks. Wesley did really well at hitting the ball, but no so much at catching or throwing it to his team mates during the games.

The Bakes came down for one of the Saturday games.
Double chin giggles.
Hanging on the fence.
Wesley begged to be catcher...although I don't think he ever caught the ball!
Way to go Wesley! Lots of gear for a little boy!
Picture day at the Surprise Stadium

Eating microwaved marshmallows for the first time. The boys loved them!
Gooey
Messy
Isaac with his morning yogur
Checking in on Isaac before heading to bed myself, I found him naked! He had ripped off his diaper and tossed it over the edge. What a sweet chunky bum I found.
Honey was discovered...so he drank what he could before mom grabbed it!

This shirt now finally makes sense for our little boy Isaac.

Family Pictures Attempt #1

Here was our first attempt for family pictures. I am so picky with pictures. I want my boys to be smiling their natural grins, toothless and all. I want Izzy to be hamming it up with the camera. I want to have perfect flowing hair. I want us to all get along!
I had the outfits picked out and coordinating. Fresh haircuts. No zits. Polished nails.
But....an ornery toddler who woke up from a nap grumpy.
He would NOT smile.
Not for licorice.
Not when being held.
Not while being kissed.
He was a sour pickle.
So....sigh...we'll have to take some more next week. Thanks Jennie for being so patient in the chilly cold air...and for trying to get Izzy to laugh. In the end...he got his way...no more pictures!
